Yes, it's time for my annual birthday post, and in case you're wondering what I'm talking about, check here, here, and here for reference.

It seems that each year my birthday greetings get more and more generic (a good majority of the greetings were simply "happy birthday!"), and I blame the massive exodus of old facebook regulars from the site. I suspect their most recent revamping to be the culprit of this. I'm not too worried about this, however. If I measured how many people were my friends based on who said happy birthday to me on my wall, well, that'd be fairly sad. I got the greetings that matter on mediums that weren't simply a social network.

Go West, Young Man

My boss told me the other week that my attitude is "too West Coast" for this office, "West Coast" apparently being interchangeable with the term "laid-back." He said he wasn't sure if that's just the culture I grew up in, but I need to "lean forward" in the workplace more.

Hm.

Not sure what to make of that, but at the very least, he told this to me after he gave me a raise.
