The Roots - How I Got Over The Roots had always been one of my favorite hip hop groups, mainly due to their use of jazzy, live instrumentation in their music. I'm particularly fond of Questlove's percussion work (and if you get the chance, take a listen to his work with the Philadelphia Experiment) and was immensely impressed when I saw them live at the UCLA Jazz-Reggae Fest in 2008 (remind me to put the video up one of these days).
While it's a shame to see that they've been relegated to the late night show circuit as of 2009, I'm glad they're still releasing quality tracks and albums such as the aforementioned.
