Zombies!Today I enjoyed New York's version of the zombie 5k marathon. The premise is this:
-Run like hell from the zombies
You can defend yourself with Nerf guns, baseball bats, boards with nails in them, light sabers or what have you. But all in all, you'd only be delaying the inevitable swarm of the undead picking at your brain (much like what would happen during the real zombie apocalypse).
The makeup and costumes were fairly elaborate, and us "survivors" were seemingly well-armed to survive this 2.8 mile run, as evidenced by these pictures.
Unfortunately, of the 40 or so survivors, only 3 made it through the whole course. None of these runners had a survival weapon.
If it's one thing I learned today, it's that during the real zombie apocalypse, I'd probably be one of the first to go. If real-life zombies are anything like they are on Dawn of the Dead and not like the ones in Night of the Living Dead, I'm pretty much screwed.
